Progress

I don't really think I'm making any. I've been watching movies in an attempt to hear how the tones are pronounced but still can only make them out about half of the time. I think I'm intimidated by the language a little (or a lot). I think I need to do a little revaluation of my motivations and stop being such a scaredy cat.

Anki

While readingAlex's blog, ExploreAsiaNow, he mentioned a program called Anki. It's like a flash card program that helps you remember better. I like it better than actually writing out flashcard because I type faster.

"Anki is a spaced repetition system (SRS). It helps you remember things by intelligently scheduling flashcards, so that you can learn a lot of information with the minimum amount of effort."

So far I love it, especially the fact that audio can be added or recorded to practice pronunciation.
